How do I search the PDF library?

Use the instant search box at the foot of the library page. It searches titles, summaries, topics and the full extracted text of every guide, so a phrase that appears deep inside a document will still surface it. Press Enter to search, use the down and up arrow keys to move through matches, and Esc to clear.

What is Ask The Library and how is it different from search?

Ask The Library is an assistant that answers a question in plain English using only the text of our published guides and Knowledge Centre articles. Search returns documents; Ask The Library returns a short answer with citations you can open in preview at the exact passage used. It gives general information about our published material, not legal advice.

Can I read a guide without downloading it?

Yes. Every guide has its own page with the full text rendered as ordinary web content, plus an in-page preview of the PDF itself. On a phone or tablet the reader view lets you swipe through sections, jump via the contents list and increase the text size.

How do I download the PDF?

Open a guide preview and use the Download button in the preview toolbar. That saves the original PDF file, not the web page. You can also open the document in a new tab and save it from your browser's PDF viewer.

Does it cost anything, and do I need an account?

No. The library is free and open, with no login. If you want an email when new guides are published, subscribe with a company email address on the library page; personal mailbox addresses are not accepted.

How do I browse guides by subject?

Use the topics index, which groups every guide by subject such as disclosure, digital forensics, Relativity, mobile evidence and chain of custody. Each topic page lists its guides and offers a one-click question to Ask The Library about that subject.

How should I cite a guide?

Cite the guide title, e-discovery.uk as the publisher, the guide page URL and the date you accessed it. Each guide page carries a stable URL and a publication date, and the PDF itself can be linked directly if a bundle or court filing requires the source file.

Can our team upload or contribute guides?

The library is curated by our practice, so uploads are handled internally rather than by visitors. If you would like us to cover a subject, or you have spotted an error in a guide, contact us and we will look at it for the next release.

How often are new guides added?

New guides, sector briefings and disclosure checklists are added as they are published, and the library sitemap and feed update at the same time so search engines and answer engines pick them up quickly.
